Social Media Policy
Please read the following carefully and make sure you fully understand each point. Any breach of this Social Media Acceptable Use & Behaviour policy may result in a temporary or permanent ban from one or all of the Spinners & Grinders Cycling Club Social Media Networks without warning.

By Social Media Networks, this includes but is not limited to Facebook, Strava, WhatsApp, Instagram or the club website. The club may decide to use other Social Media Networks at a later date. Any additional Social Media Networks will also be covered by the same Social Media Acceptable Use & Behaviour policy.

Your use of any Spinners & Grinders Cycling Club Social Media Network confirms your agreement to abide by the current Social Media Acceptable Use & Behaviour policy in effect.

You must not post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, derogatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, discriminatory, threatening, invasive of a person’s privacy, or otherwise violates any law.

We do accept and encourage healthy debate and contributions on topics, however you must not behave rashly or impetuously, nor may you partake in personal attacks of any form against other members or members of the general public. Always be mindful of the impact or effect your contribution might have any other members.

You may not post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or with permission of the copyright owner.

You may not promote any service (including non-commercial) whether it’s by means of providing a link, or by means of contacting the club’s members through the mailing and messaging tools provided. Furthermore, advertisements (excluding cycling related material and events that may be of interest to members), spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are prohibited on all Spinners & Grinders Cycling Club Social Media Networks. Also note that we reserve the right to remove links to external Websites or Web pages.

The Spinners & Grinders Cycling Club Social Media Networks are a place for its members to discuss and post cycling issues and for the club and its members to organise official and non-official rides and events.
Moderation On Spinners & Grinders Cycling Club Social Media Networks

The Spinners & Grinders Cycling Club Social Media Networks are moderated by the Committee on a voluntary basis.

The Committee reserve the right to remove or demand the removal of non-compliant or objectionable material at their discretion. Every effort will be made to compete this within a reasonable time frame. Please note: As this is a manual process, messages or posts may not be removed or edited immediately. Although the Committee will attempt to keep all non-compliant and objectionable material off the Social Media Networks, it is impossible to review all material.

In the case where you encounter non-complaint or objectionable material, please report it to a Committee member immediately. Do not reply or provide a counter response. When posts are removed because they violate these terms, all posts that relate or reply to the post will also be removed.

Sensible and informative topics must not be hijacked with off topic discussions and banter which serve to render the original post and replies to be lost.

In a case of an extreme or repeat offence, the Committee may ban a member from accessing or posting to the Social Media Network(s), this ban may be temporary or indefinite depending on the discretion of the Committee and the extremity of the offence. In extreme cases the Committee may withdraw club membership in line with the club Constitution.

If a member is found to have multiple accounts on a Social Media Network, we reserve the right to ban one or all of the accounts.

Derogatory, obscene or otherwise unsuitable profiles and usernames will be banned.

Some Social Media Networks require the user to be a currently subscribed member of Spinners & Grinders Cycling Club. Any lapsed memberships may be removed from the Spinners & Grinders Cycling Club Social Media Networks without further notice.

Together the club Chairman and Welfare Officer will act as a route of appeal and referee any breach of this policy that remains unresolved or in dispute. The outcome of their decision remains final.

All material express the views of the users, and Spinners & Grinders Cycling Club will not be held responsible for the content of any post. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any material, and are not responsible for the contents of any material.

Any user who feels material posted is non-compliant or objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately. We will make every effort to review and remove the material within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.

The Spinners & Grinders Cycling Club Social Media Networks are provided for members use and we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

This policy may be updated as and when the there is a need to do so. Any new or updated policy will supersede previous policies with immediate effect and will be displayed on the club’s website.
